Fabrics and Felts

Glass-Tex VR fabrics are made of 100% continuous twisted glass yarns, to withstand temperatures up to 540°C. They are subject to special finishing treatments, to meet various requirements for high temperature heat insulation. They are absolutely non combustible and thanks to their excellent mechanical characteristics can withstand temperatures up to 650°C. They are chemically stable and corrosion-proof.

Glass-Tex VR fabrics conform to international standards for non combustible materials and standards for low chloride content. Some types of fabrics are made as for the following standards: NAVY MIL – C – 20079/MIL – I – 24244 and COAST GUARD 46 CFR 164.009 The main uses are in power stations, chemical and steel industries.

Glass-Tex VR fabrics are used in the form of:

• fire blankets for droplets and spark protection and for insulation during pre-heating and heat treatments in general.
• insulation surface for removable blankets for valves, flanges, turbines and boilers.
• expansion joints and special tapes for complex shapes applications.
• piping sheaths. For specific applications the fabrics can be laminated and/or coated with: self-extinguishing acrylic resin, aluminum, polyester HT, polyurethane, silicone, neoprene, PTFE.
